Dia de los Muertos- Day of the Dead Community and Experiential Learning Event
When
BEC co-hosted the annual community Day of the Dead event with the UA ECE Community of Practice (sponsored by United Way), and La Estrella Bakery at the most recent La Estrella location at Grande Ave. This event brings over 35 early childhood and bilingual educators, both pre-service and Master’s in ECE students, to learn first hand about the cultural and linguistic practice and knowledge embedded within this tradition in Tucson. The ECE pre-service teachers and graduate students have the opportunity to engage in this experiential learning and bridge theoretical pedagogical frameworks to hands-on practice and curricular activities to apply with their pre-school and early elementary students.
