​On March 21, 2025, the College of Education hosted an enriching excursion for international graduate students to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson.

The University of Arizona will receive $3 million for a new project aimed at strengthening retention, degree completion, career readiness and post-graduation success for Hispanic first-generation and low-income students.

This institute offers an ongoing self-reflection environment to in-service and pre-service teachers in Southern Arizona. Participants will have the opportunity to meet teachers from Mexico and conduct different joint activities to explore and define their identity as educators of young children, adolescents, adults, first generation, low-income, immigrants and diverse community representing ethnicity, race, sexual preference, first language, etc.

The Borderlands Education Center (BEC) in partnership with the College of Education, Native American Advancement, Initiatives & Research and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) Initiatives hosted the 33rd Annual Conference of the Association of Academic Programs in Latin America and the Caribbean (AAPLAC) 2022.

With National Science Foundation funding, students will be uniquely trained to teach science, technology, engineering and mathematics along the U.S.-Mexico border.
